Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The statistics of an item are enhanced by upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment provides an increase in the linearity of the stats of a particular.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain a level gauge for each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item scales with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to boost the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be achieved through many different methods, including the use of upgrade components and also upgrading an item's mark levels or rarity. Many items can also be reforged to boost their stats.
You can find upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available all over all over the world and are rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. Upgrade components are the main method of upgrading equipment. These are items that can slot into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots for upgrading, and many require a certain amount of upgrade. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while other components offer an overall bonus.
There are many types of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. The universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be placed on any kind of equipment and offer lower bonuses than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs can only be placed in gathering tools, and provide various benefits, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing extra crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected stats are after the upgrade, as well as any necessary components or materials. If you don't have enough of either the upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.
The number of upgrade components needed for a particular item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of upgrading increases with the level of upgrade and rarity, however it can be reduced through many different ways, such as purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them with other players.
Nearly all weapons can be upgraded using a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia, or a rune, and many can be upgraded using a suffix upgrade. These upgrades alter the name of the item and add an adjective, like "Radiant" or "Minor vigor.' The exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which are not upgradeable with any mods.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be a powerful tool to communicate visual information. They animate in order to grab the viewer's eye and entice curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics body language, which makes them more effective in conveying the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs also improve the recall of messages by creating an experience of familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph comes with a range of values it can improve a stat by, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This is the maximum value that a glyph could improve a stat by and not the amount it actually increases it by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the item you are enchanting it to.
The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items cannot be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you do have an unusable rune or glyph that has not yet been incorporated into your gear, you can move it to another piece of gear by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
You can remove a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is placed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be retrieved using the glyph shards.
A glyph added to an item can cause it to become unstable and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you dismantle the item. You can also add a glyph to your equipment to add an additional benefit. For instance, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly instead of all at one time. This can be helpful for those who take lots of damage from enemies however do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes of weapons and other equipment. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, such as mystery boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token grants the player a new random affix, which is usually superior to the original. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.
Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the upgrade menu, however they still qualify to receive upgrades. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its level gauge. This amount is determined by the rarity of the item and also its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable for recycling than items with lower levels.
In addition to reroll tokens players can also make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls are based on a % chance to determine a weapon's trait. If it is higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
A reroll is a good option to upgrade an item, but users should be aware that it will reduce the overall ilvl the weapon by the number of rerolls used to raise it to its final ilvl. This effect is most evident on rings and Diadems, because they are the only options to increase the ilvl.
Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It would be fairer to allow people to pay for it with money or food items, which allows players to make changes to their builds without having to invest too much time. However, paid rerolls are not something the developers want to incorporate at this point in the game's development. They're planning to include a potion that will allow players to alter their race in the future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to level up an item upgrade . The first is to increase the amount of upgrade which boosts the value of an upgrade for any stat. The second is to boost the effect of upgrading that increases the damage or heal of a given stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. After this the new item will retain its iLevel but it will be upgraded with the effects of the upgraded type of item.
When upgrading your items, it is important to remember that upgrades are random. In most cases a better roll is determined by glyphs. However there are instances when a greater or special roll could occur. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or exclusive item to a special item type, then it is likely to receiving a higher level.
Upgrading items can be costly especially when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to the legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item will depend on the base iLevel and the number of upgrade levels. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to reach the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item will be at the maximum level of its upgrade track, and will unlock a bonus effect. This will result in a significant boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level however. In general, the upgrade effect is increased by a factor of +3.
Based on the item's base level and its upgrade process, the iLevel for the upgraded item will also change. For example, an item that is upgraded from being a scarce or exclusive item to an extraordinary one can be expected to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
